National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, Captain Mike Mukula, has paid a heartfelt tribute to the late General Moses Ali, describing him as a distinguished patriot, freedom fighter, and elder statesman whose contribution to Uganda will never be forgotten.
In a condolence message issued following the announcement of Gen. Moses Ali’s death, Mukula expressed profound sorrow over the passing of his longtime friend, who died at Nakasero Hospital.
Quoting the Qur’an, Mukula opened his message with the Islamic phrase:
“Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rājiʿūn. Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.” (Qur’an 2:156)
He praised Gen. Moses Ali for dedicating his life to the service of Uganda, saying his role in promoting peace, national unity, stability, and reconstruction would remain a permanent part of the country’s history.
Mukula described the late general as a courageous soldier, wise leader, and humble statesman whose commitment to Uganda inspired many generations of leaders and citizens.
On behalf of his family, Mukula extended condolences to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, the Government of Uganda, the family of Gen. Moses Ali, the people of Adjumani District, the West Nile Sub-region, and all Ugandans mourning the loss.
He urged the nation to celebrate the late leader’s legacy of patriotism, sacrifice, courage, and dedicated public service.
“Uganda has lost one of her finest sons, but his enduring legacy will continue to inspire future generations to serve with integrity, selflessness, and unwavering love for country,” Mukula said.
He concluded by praying that Allah forgives the late general’s shortcomings, grants him mercy, admits him into Jannatul Firdaus, and comforts his family and all those grieving his passing.
